- A45: Suitable for PB440D2 and PB550G.

Installed 2 of these in 2 Pitboss Lexingtons, which were purchased from the local Walmart. Well, they are cheap and they work. After a few weeks, I have realized while they do work, they can't hold temperature very well. Set it for 200, and the temperature will swing wildly from 100 to 400 degrees average. Kinda hard to smoke at 400 degrees. The spikes are random. At 200 degrees, I have seen the fire put out a few times, and this controller will keep dumping pellets until the bin is empty. You'll come back after 4 hours expecting alot of progress, but find cold meat, and the chore of pulling everything out, clean out the bottom of the grill of all the pellets and try again. Not sure if the firmware is even looking at the grill temperature. Not very excited about these. In the meantime, I fixed 1 of the oem panels and now I use the new controller(s) to just grill at 350 plus. The oem controller I strictly use for smoiking. Hopefully the manufacture will get this right in the future. The OEM panel is 5 times more expensive.

I have a Pit Boss PB820XL and this fit perfectly. Only snag I ran into with the install was a rusted screw that stripped on me, which is not related to this product. Once I connected everything and popped it into place it fired right up with now issues and at a much more reasonable price than an OEM replacement.Functionality- 5/5Install- 4/5 (self inflicted)Ease of use- 5/4Durability- 4/5 (little bit lighter construction than OEM)

This was easy to swap with the old one. All interfaces work the same. It kept me from having to buy a new grill. Water messed up old one to cause the auger to constantly run this one works like the old one did new.

Three years ago I purchased a Pt Boss Sportsman Smoker/Grill that I use several times per month and have never had any problems. About a month ago I got an Err message and could not get it to start. I contacted Pit Boss and they walked me through a trouble shooting process - without success. I was told it was a probe problem and they were sending a replacement. It has been over a month and I still have not received the probe, or the cover that had stripped screws.I purchased a probe from Amazon and after installing I still had the Err message. I ended up purchasing and installing the control panel and the grill worked like new. It was super easy to install and looks just like the factory Pit Boss control- except for the orange trim around the plate.I also replaced the burn pot and igniter. The screws on the burn pot were burned up and had to be drill out. That took over an hour, but it was well worth the trouble.I bought the control panel, probe, igniter, and burn pot from Amazon and all were great quality. It has been about 4 weeks since I contacted Pit Boss and still have not received the probe or cover they said they would send - even after calling them several times and being told they would ship the parts. Pit Boss customer service is very poor. The day after this was posted I got a notification that the parts from Pit Boss shipped.

Ordered this for my pitboss austin Xl it's the right control but the case its in didn't fit the cut out in my smoker but if you just take the board out the cover an switch it with the cover you already have you can replace it for this price instead of the 80 or 90 I've seen the right part on here lol who doesn't like to save 20 or 30 dollars

I bought a grill from Princess Auto and this appears to be the control panel that was used. As there are no spare parts available from PA, this is my solution to potential future failures.

Had to purchase a new control panel because my other blanked out. Got the new panel in to discover that I needed a new auger motor as well. Life gets busy and I didn't get the chance to order the motor immediately. When I got the motor installed it ran continually whenever you plugged the Pit Boss in. I got a chance to look further into it this weekend. Ran through all the trouble shooting we could find as to why the auger motor runs. I thought what the heck, if I have to unplug it between uses no big deal. I was wrong. Tried to cook with it yesterday and set the temp to 300. The grill went up to 490 degrees regardless of setting. So I try to return it or get a new one to be told that it was outside of the return window. I understand that it can't be open indefinitly but it is just outside of 30 days. Will be buying another panel but not this one.
