I've used StopTech 309 pads for endurance racing and they work just fine. They require a bit more pedal effort and don't have a lot of initial bite, but they modulate well and handle heat. They don't last as long as a true race pad, but are an economical choice for crap-can racing. I can typically get one weekend (14-16 hours) out of a set, which is perfect.

Compare to the previous Hawk HPS+, these have much better modulation and just as much stopping power. Very satisfied after a few track days in a Miata with BFG SportComps.

I use these on my stock 2005 Mazda Miata, which is sees daily use around town and the occasional track day. I put these on pretty immediately after buying the Miata, so I don't know if it's the pads or the car, but the brake feel is phenomenal. It's completely linear, immediate, predictable, and strong.Everyone wants a pad that can do both the street and track well, and for me this hits the mark. When cold they bite just fine and feel the same as when hot, but there is occasionally some minor squeal. Granted, it doesn't take much to stop a 2500 lb Miata, but these have gotten me through 20-minute sessions at Big Willow and the Streets of Willow (on street summer tires, not slicks) with no noticeable brake fade whatsoever, and feel exactly the same driving home from the track. Any dust has been negligible, and I can't yet speak to longevity but after 3 hard track days they haven't noticeably shrunk. I can already say I'll be using the same pad when these eventually need replacing.

These are great pads and work really well for mixed use - track, autox, street. I'm using them on a 2001 Miata SE with Sport brakes and take my car to auto-x and track (Laguna Seca). They are perfect "do-it-all" pads:- no noise on the street- decent bite when cold, but not super aggressive- take a bit of heat to come up to best performance- can take heat on the track if you don't have FI car and are not riding brakes a lot- inexpensive- good quality of manufacturing and assembly- do not eat up rotors like some other pads doI think this is a winner!Person who got wrong size - perhaps either needs to do more research on part numbers of if he got wrong item - return to Amazon for a proper part.

I bought these in May 2016, tried to replace my front brakes but these brake pads didn't fit because they were too small smh, so now I gotta hop online and look for another set of brake pads for my 2001 Mazda Miata MX5.. not happy at all..
