I really wanted to like this magnetic door catch — the idea is solid, but the implementation falls short. First, the strike plate is about 1/8" smaller in all dimensions compared to a standard plate, meaning extra work: wood filling, sanding, and refinishing to make it look right. Second, the strike plate does nothing to help the magnet find a consistent closing point. Despite careful calibration, the door settled in a different position almost every time — up to an inch of variability.In a dual door setup, this was especially problematic. The magnet isn't strong enough to overcome the slight resistance of a closing door, and without a true alignment mechanism, the opposing door would get nudged out of position by about 1/4". There are better magnetic catch designs out there that use two offset magnets to provide reliable pull and positioning — they cost more, but they actually work.This could be a great product with a redesign, but as it stands, I can’t recommend it.

We got BINFEW 2 Pack Adjustable Hidden Door Magnetic Ball Catch Replacement hoping to fix a bathroom door that doesn’t latch correctly. Installation was easy, and we liked the low-profile design. Unfortunately, the magnetic catch just isn’t strong enough—it doesn't hold the door securely closed. We tried adjusting it, but it still didn’t stay shut reliably. Might be okay for very lightweight doors or cabinets, but it didn’t work for our needs.

I had an old pantry door that used to be hard to open and close due to aging. Now this new magnetic design makes my life a lot easier. I would definitely buy more to replace other doors when needed.

I had aging ball catch on doors that were difficult to open. I replaced them with the magnetic door catch. I love that they are magnetic, so no more fighting with the aging ball catch.

Installed this to my kids bedroom door, replaced the old style, works great with the magnet, easy to install. Now I don't need to worry the kids lock themselves in the room.
