My cat that freaks out in a nylon or hard plastic carrier was extremely relaxed while in this carrier. It has a latch in the neck opening so you can fasten to the collar, just be sure to tighten the neck enough so they don't walk out of it.

Most cat owners are aware of what their kitties will and will not tolerate when it comes to 'new' things. Nevertheless, I wanted to test this carrier pouch with my kitty to see how she would respond to it. I did take the advice to open it up and lay it out with some treats inside to allow my girl time to inspect it first. She sniffs everything! I left it laying out for a couple of days prior to putting her inside of it. She wasn't a fan of being zipped into it whatsoever, and meowed her head off, saying LET ME OUT NOW! So for us it was a no go. However, I do see the benefit of using it for numerous situations, so will not rate it by my kitties response, as she is quite independent.

I have a 12 year old diabetic cat. She has to go to the vet every couple of months for bloodwork. I have found that she does much better in a carrier like this over the traditional pet carriers. I like this because the material is waterproof. It also allows her legs to be free. I tend to hold her underneath to give her support rather than letting her just hang. I do wish there was a way to secure this in the car better for the vet trips.

The drawstring for paws and head openings ensures my cat can't escape, but still feels comfortable during our trips.

Like another reviewer, I was fairly sure this ingenious carrier would be a no-go for my little cat, but in my case, I was right. (I think I’ll be making amends for quite awhile after this experiment.) I really wanted it to work, though. The carrier itself seems adequate in quality and construction, but at this price, it should be better: there could be padding on the inside, or at least a removeable lining to cover the seams and add comfort. I added a folded towel, but it was too thick, awkward, and shifted around inside. I think it would be better if the zipper closed from the rear rather than the head end: while I was trying to zip the bag over his head, my cat was trying to back out through the unzipped opening rather than moving forward into the head opening. (Speaking of which, it seems that other cats enjoy that head opening, but my cat was, shall we say, skeptical.) I think it would help if the bag had more soft structure to it, so it holds its shape better during loading. I think my cat was quite put off by the unpredictable shifting of the material around him. All of this would be acceptable for less than $20, but it doesn’t, in my opinion, warrant the current price.I confess that I laughed while watching the video for this carrier, which shows an extremely docile cat being placidly loaded into the bag. None of my many cats have ever been so blasé about being put into a carrier. I was impressed by the reviewers who were surprised that their cats liked this carrier and wanted to try it out, but, as with all things feline, I think it very much depends on the cat. No stars off just because it didn’t work for me, since it obviously is working spectacularly for others. But one star off because the design could be better and one off because quality could be better for the price asked. I still think it’s worth trying, because you never know!
