Often one of the first modifications performed on a vehicle, the strut tower brace improves handling and stability of a vehicle. The Sustec Tower Bar has been very popular due to its low price and high functionality. By connecting the strut towers, and creating a balance, the shocks are prevented from independently moving and causing small changes in suspension geometry.

With the factory struts and front anti-sway bar, the Civic Si FG2 rolls towards the outer wheel and understeers considerably even on low speed turns (30mph) forcing me to left-foot brake in order to maintain control of the front end and turn-in. I just installed the strut bar on my 2009 Civic Si FG2. The front end now feels slightly "jumpy" or bouncy particularly if the steering wheel is "jiggled" left, right, left. But more importantly, I don't notice the rolling towards the outer wheel on sharp, right-angle, and diagonal street turns. The improvement on the street is not track-level, super stiff, or razor sharp but definitely more stable and easy for turning. To complement this strut bar, an aftermarket suspension is needed to stiffen the Si's rear shocks and springs to counter acceleration squat. Overall, the Tanabe bar is a good start to improve the Si's turning and handling. When installing, you should make sure the threads from the bolt on each end are equally exposed. I had about three or four threads on mine. Also remember to tighten all the bolts, so everything is nice and tight tying the struts together.

This a great piece for the Civic Sedan. With the proper suspension, the bar makes a difference in the way the steering feels and responds to your input. I'm on Koni yellows and Neuspeed Progressive Springs, which give me a 2" drop overall. The Tanabe bar tied my setup together nicely. If you're really looking to increase performance handling, I strongly suggest getting a Progress Rear Sway bar.
