Though I returned this because I did not need it for the purpose I intended it, I was very tempted to keep it anyway. It is a beautiful replica of the sword from Game of Thrones, and would make a handsome display piece, if one chose to use it that way rather than as a letter opener. The price was very reasonable for the quality, I thought.

The price is a little high, but it is a very nice piece! I wanted a sword, without skulls, when in a stand could symbolize a cross, could be sharpened, AND used as a letter opener! Well, this IT!!! Sturdy, functional, and you can put an edge on it! You do have to sharpen it yourself-whhaaa! That's half the fun! The stand Amazon recommends is great too-see the pic!

Très belle reproduction, détails soignés. L’emballage est à la taille et très peu épais , sans intérêt pour moi à conserver . Juste un support à faire pour la mettre en valeur. Dimension 24,50 x 6,50. Ouvre lettres grande classe !

Amazing quality, I highly recommend it. Works perfectly when opening letters and looks just like Ice from the show. Be careful though. Great letter opener in the shape of a sword, may be a bad thing if any kiddos got ahold of it.

I love this letter opener! It's sturdy, not too heavy, and as sharp as it needs to be to open an envelope (it doesn't need to be able to slice tomatoes people!). My family thinks I'm funny because every time I use it, I brandish it like the real sword Ice of House Stark. In my opinion, it's worth the few extra dollars over cheaper, less interesting letter openers.

Novelty gift for a co-worker. Exactly as described. Very impressive. I couldn't wait for this to be taken out of the box!Great idea for those GOT fans in the office looking to add a little "swag" to their desk.Stout, detailed and pointy. It'll break skin with enough pressure. Worth its weight and gold for sure. Definitely keep away from kids.

# Ice great sword replica by The Noble Collection. Ice is a Valyrian steel great sword held by house Stark for generations. I say this is a sword replica because like others have stated it isn't really sharp at all, it really won't open letter ever efficiently. However the sword is fairly nice quality, not top of the line but good. The paint job has a few flaws and nicks here and there. I've taken some pictures of it next to some Art Gladius swords to compare. The sword itself has a plastic hilt and metal pommel, the edges aren't sharp at all however the piercing part is fairly sharp. The fit of the pommel is tight and doesn't wobble at all on my model. Size wise it's not quite to scale as the Longclaw version of the sword is slightly larger, that's kind of a bummer as Ice is suppose to be a great sword and quite big.I like the weight of the great sword and how it looks, the quality could be a little better though and the edges sharper. I would most likely purchase again though.

After losing my long-time letter opener in a tragic accident, I purchased this one on a whim. It's a neat novelty gift for someone who enjoys the show, but it's barely adequate in its function as a letter opener. The "sharp" edges of the blade are flattened and roughly 1/16" thick (~1.5mm), which doesn't allow for smooth cutting, and the pointy end isn't nearly pointy enough for those tighter spaces.This is more of a miniature sword replica than an actual functioning letter opener. You can make do with it, but I know I'll soon be buying something else that costs less and works better.Update:I ended up choosing the shortly after writing this review, which is a better knife-style letter opener for about half the price.

I'm very impressed with the craftsmanship behind this. I was really expecting kind of a cheap, easy to bend, type of opener to own just for the novelty. I was taken aback by not only how beautiful it is to behold, but how effective it is. It really is closer to a miniature replica broadsword than anything else and has a pleasant weight to it. I'd keep it away from the kids but for responsible adults this is a must own item, whether you're a hardcore Game of Thrones fan or simply looking to class up your desk.
