I work in the south as an ‘industrial athelete’ outside all winter. In a work day temps can swing 12f to 50f with conditions ranging standing on frozen ground to profusely sweating. Dedicated winter boots restrict movement and get soaked with sweat. These over boots insulate my toes from the cold ground without restricting ankle mobility and they pop off when the temps rise, or before I start a sweaty task. I can take up to 20,000 steps a day and/or be climbing ropes and these over boots keep me moving well in hiking boots all winter.
