Great quality for the price. However, you get what you pay for…

Item did not come with user manual or instructions so the item has functions I have been able to activate and use. Very disappointed. Is there a pdf that I can download somewhere or can the pdf be emailed to me? Thank you

I am reviewing the UPETTOOLS Aquarium Filter 3-Stage in-Tank Filter Internal Fish Tank Filter Ultra Silent Sponge Filter with Aeration, Oxygenation and Rainfall for Fish Tanks 5-40 Gallon. The filter is of medium size but very efficient. The manufacturer says it will be good for an up to 40 gallon tank. Mine is a 12 gallon and works well. It attaches to the wall of the tank with a set of suction cups that hold the filter in place. This is a three step filtration system and easy enough to clean. The parts come apart fairly easy and they are all easy to clean. The flow of water is adequate and has several configurations to adapt to your particular needs, tastes.Even though the filter itself is very quiet, I prefer to use the rain mode configuration. Besides the cleaning and oxygenation parts, I get the soothing sound of dripping water and the relaxing visual of colorful fish swimming in crystal clear water.I've had several filters through the years and the UPETTOOLS Aquarium Filter seems to be a lot easier to maintain. It is too soon to talk about durability, but I have no reason to believe it will last at least as much as any other I had in the past.Given the features, the ease of use and general quality, the price is very reasonable. Even better than I would probably be willing to pay for a good filter.

I got this filter for the primary purpose of gentle water flow in my betta sorority tank. This filter does not function properly and it's entirely inadequate for ANY size tank (10g or under). The propeller does not spin properly, but water IS sucked through the bottom intake hole. However, there is NO protective cover on the bottom intake compartment and the filter sucked in my neocaridina shrimp (poor shrimp suffered a slow demise in the intake trap with a slow propeller...). The provided filter sponge does absolutely nothing; I only expected it to capture some small debris, NOT my invertebrates.I have other submersible small filters in my 2-10 gallon tanks that perform EXCELLENT (with diy filter media) along with adequate water circulation, and have had ZERO livestock loss (and maintains pristine water parameters).I do NOT recommend this for ANY small tank with livestock of ANY type.
