For many years, I have used a very old EVGA UVPlus+ USB video adapter to drive a third monitor on my PC. Having just upgraded to a new computer, I ordered this device because I assumed from the headline on the item's page that this would be a comparable upgrade for my third monitor, and I also assumed an SS20 USB 3.2 port would do the job. Not so much. Nothing but a black screen. Should have read the fine print, much lower on the page, which indicates that only USB ports also marked as DP will work. So I couldn't give this a fair test, scoring it 4 stars and recommending the warning about USB ports be made more prominent. Fortunately, my old EVGA device still works!

This item does as it advertises, with quick, clear connections. I primarily got it for the HDMI port, especially for this price point. It works very well with high resolution and no lag. I'm using it with my M3 MacBook Air, and it works flawlessly alongside another dongle, giving me two external monitors very effectively. The USB-A port also works well. I don't have the need of the PD port, so I haven't tried that yet, but this seems like high value for the price point.

1. It works.2. The HDMI port on my lap top was giving me trouble and would no longer connect to my external monitor.3. This adapter plugged in to the thunderbolt connection on my laptop and instantly connected to my external monitor.

2.Any other customers I tried to use my device tonight.A few weeks later from getting a product and it's charging cord port does not allow it to be plugged and very upset.Amazon won't even give me a refund I am not computer savvy so that doesn't help me either

Needed to display on an old VGA monitor and a newer HDMI and it worked. This worked for the laptop I had that supported that USB-C display. Precheck that the requirements for this adapter. This works fine on my laptop. Check your USB-C functions for video so you will be happy with this. Works great.

TL;DR: It works as expected.You can hook up HDMI and Sub-D for multiple monitors, but it displays the same screen image using a Steam Deck. For older phones that don't support HDMI over USB, you will need to buy a separate display link adapter. That will work with this hub, but it takes up that 1x USB port, or get a USB hub and plug all you want in. Still it works as advertised and will let you hook up supported phones/Steam decks, and if you use the same wireless adapter for a keyboard and mouse, or use BT to connect instead of getting a hub, you are golden.

I was really excited when I came across this adapter. Most of technology nowadays is transitioning to high def displays and connections. This adapter helps me maintain the functionality of using older display technologies such as VGA and still gives me the capabilities of displaying through HDMI connectivity. It is easy to use as it is just a plug-and-play device and it is very well built so I know it is durable enough to handle the rigors of day-to-day use in an AV environment. This device does not have many USB ports (only one) which is fine since it's value is mostly in its capabilities to display. It has a PD port to power the device that you're connected to especially if you only have a single input Thunderbolt port.
