This optic exceeds my expectations and I’ve used a lot of scopes over the years. The clarity is top notch and the build is exceptional. Just to clear the air on some of the negatives I read before I bought. The red dot is 100% daylight bright. Even on setting 6-7 is daylight bright. 10 is too bright honestly. The scope lever itself is super smooth and NOT hard to turn at all. Great job on the scope vortex.

Very clear glass, tactical turret adjustments with a solid click and best of all it's daylight bright and has a shutoff between brightness levels. Get one, best LPVO MSR scope under $1,000.00 with the VIP warranty to back it up. I have 2 HS-T and 1 HS Vipers on my hunting rifles with a Venom red dot on my pistol. Love every one of them.

This is my 5th Vortex. I find them to be a great valve and a good scope. Vortex’s VIP warranty is no joke: they stand behind their scopes. The Viper 1x6 is a noticeable step up in lense quality from the Strike Eagle. The dot illuminated center has well thought out brightness levels( 1-5 for low light, 6-10 for bright daylight) . The reticle itself is ideal for the .45-70 and will make it a 300 yard rifle without turning knobs. Eye relief is ample. The field of view is especially wide. The trade off being a bit of parallex. Placing your stock weld consistently will fix this.Heavier than other options, but solidly built.I really compared what scope to mount on a lever action big bore. The Vortex Viper has a number of unique features that makes it a standout choice.

Top scope quality and durability in its overpriced range. That lack of distinct clicks means that you set zero and leave it, and use the MRAD for holdover and wind. Not a bad thing for a 6x, just know that you aren't going to be adjusting it for drop under field conditions.

I’ve had a Razor 1-6 and can put this against it. It’s not a Razor, let’s get that out of the way but it’s like 80% of the way there. Mine is very clear, edge to edge. It is heavy but I guess that means it’s beefy inside. I do need to get a throw lever as it’s as tight to adjust as my Razor. Build quality feels up there with the razor. Clicks and caps are very nice and solid. Very bright reticle. I would say this is an excellent 1-6x. I wish trijicon had a 1-6 in this price range, I have their 1-4 and that is a great optic as well.I also have the 1-6 and 1-8 StrikeEagles. This definitely has better glass and those you don’t have the clarity at the edges and the eye relief isn’t as forgiving. So you get what you pay for.

Very good eye relief and easy to use like a regular red dot when set to 1X magnification. Downside is that you may need to change butt stock or add a riser to get a perfect viewing angle. However, this is true for any rifle scope which is why the precision butt stocks have adjustable cheek welds. Red dot feature works great and here's a good thing for those of us with astigmatism. The smearing is not that bad especially at lower illumination levels. Best part is you can still clearly see the reticle (standard cross pattern) so you know exactly where the middle of the red dot is. Unless you need milliseconds faster close range target acquisition, my opinion is that LPVO is the best option if you also want something with moderate magnification. Do you still need backup iron sights? Yes, but only if you plan to use this in very cold/wet weather where it's difficult to keep the glass clean. The reticle is permanent so still visible without battery. You just lose red dot in case of dead battery or electronics failure. Lastly, out of box my scope had perfect windage so I only needed to set elevation to complete sight. Decided to go with Aero Precision 1 inch offset mount and no issues at all. Overall I think this has the best price performance compared to the lower and upper priced models from Vortex.

Ein Zielfernrohr was wirklich prima ist, klares und sauberes Absehen. Paralaxe verstellbar, Focus verstellbar, kann in unterschiedlichen Helligkeitsstufen beleuchtet werden.Entfernungseinstellung in Yard, Paralaxe in Yard, Strichplatte in MOA. Ich empfehle eine vernünftige Quick Detach Montagebasis oder vernünftige Montageringe um die Optik bestmöglich nutzen zu können. Bei .308 Win (7,62x51) keine Abweichungen meinerseits feststellbar.

This is an exceptional scope. Crystal clear and very easy to adjust. All adjustments are easy and crisp. Parallax, turret adjustment, scope power and adjustments on the personal focus are great. Turning on and off the illuminated reticle is a tad more difficult (as it should be) and make it unlikely that the light will be accidentally turned onIt has a system called RZR Zero stop which is amazing. you set this for elevation only. Once the scope is sighted in you set this at zero and no matter what changes you make to the turret elevation adjustments when you turn it back to zero it is exactly where it was when you sighted it in.To further explain lets say you want to take a 1,000 yard shot and you know the bullet will drop 125 inches. You would turn the top turret 1/2 turn (up) (12.5 MOA) and your reticle would now be "on the money" at 1,000 yards. Once you have made the shot you dial it back down and it goes to your original zero and stops at that point. For the money all Vortex optics represent one of the best value there is.
