Needed a device for a three-way connection of 18 AWG, 3 Conductor, Type SJ, electrical cable. This unit came with three sets of rubber grommets in different diameters enabling me to select the perfect size for my cable diameter, and when tightened with the cap nuts, each cable was firmly gripped to prevent cable pull-out. There was just enough space/volume inside for the wiring connections and the wiring connectors I used.

I used this on an outdoor application for my deck. It was a little tight for a 110 volt joining of 2 wires, but have under gone several rains and a pressure washing on the deck with no issues. Time will tell.

I was replacing a 20 year-old sump pump with a new one that has a tethered float switch. So the power supply has to connect to two other wires--one to the switch and one to the pump itself. It's a wet location and even though it won't be submerged, a waterproof junction box like this is made to order! Very well made.
