This refurbished item is not in great shape. Was shipped in a ziplock bag; arrived filthy and with many fingerprints. Yuck!Then there’s the battery cover. It is a different shade of red than the controller (see photo). Additional, it is not an official Nintendo Wii battery cover. (See the Nintendo stamp on the black controller battery cover vs. this red remote)Once the fingerprints were delicately cleaned off, many scratches were apparent (see photos). Very detracting. Our original controllers look brand new compared to this unit.With all this said, at least it pairs correctly and seemly functions. Speakers sound a little soft, but not terrible.If I could find a new Nintendo brand Wii remote; I’d rather spend more than keep this unit. Unfortunately new OEM remotes are not available. This is Not worth $40+.

I would like to start by saying that the product arrived in a timely manner. There are no scratches or cosmetic damage at all. It appears to be a genuine wii remote but I don't work for Nintendo so I can't say for sure. There was no corrosion like the other reviews and it would be near impossible to tell that this wii remote isn't brand new. Perhaps I just got lucky? The reason for 4 stars is the buttons. The buttons are not very sensitive. Often times I have to press the A button a second time because I didn't hit the button hard enough, I am used to the controllers that came with the wii and those buttons are very sensitive. Buttons are everything on a controller so not having sensitive buttons knocked a star off. It's also important to add that the wrist strap DID come with the controller, however it is not an official Nintendo strap. It is an aftermarket strap because it doesn't feel high quality and it's missing the wii and Nintendo logos.That being said everything works as it should. The motion tracking is on point and I haven't had any issues. If it breaks too soon (I am very gentle on my controllers) I will come back here and complain. Otherwise this review is up to date and the wii remote has served me well.
