I have another tester that uses a ground thay I tested this one against and this wireless fence tester does read accurately. With that said I do have a single problem with this tester and that is even with fresh batteries it sometime doesn't want work on the first click so sometime I have to mess with it a bit to get it work. That said it does work well most of the time and I do like how convenient it is to use so I am happy with it.

Great way to not finger test 8000v. Functions just as you would want. Simple to use. On/off button, you hold which eliminates forgetting it was on. Brightness is great in the daytime. feels like solid build quality. I don't think we could beat this value.

I know that this is receiving battery power because when I touch the test button, it lights up but when I hold it to my pulsing electric fence, I get nothing but a green light at the top. I’m not even sure what that means. I know that the fence is working because my other fence tester is showing me that. I don’t pretend to even know how this fence tester works, considering there are no metal contacts to press against the fence. Nevertheless, I plan to keep this with the hope that it will work with the steady-current electric fence that I plan to get in the near future. I am sorry if this review is not very helpful But it’s the best I can do at this point.

This is a very simple tester. My 12 Joule energizer lights up the 10kv light at every point, so I know it's now. It is not a high tech fault finder and there is no digital display, so it doesn't provide a ton of info. If you want to keep it in your pocket to see if your fence is hot, it's a good, simple solution.

Very simple. Easy to use electric fence tester. Worked well for my fence.Much less painful than touching the fence with your tongue like a 9 V battery!!!!!!!I would order this again

Super simple to use, and seems to work great. I just installed a solar powered electric fence around my garden to keep the groundhogs out. Once it was up and turned on the only way to tell if it was working was for my to touch it with the back of my hand. I ordered this and now use it to make sure it is up and running and save myself the anticipation of a shock. (the actual shock isn't that bad)
