These "removal tools" are complete garbage - bent instantly, stripped my cartridge, and left me with a bigger mess. Feels like recycled soda cans. Save your money and use pliers instead

Beats using pliers for sure, this is a much better alternative for removing the cartridge when the facet starts leaking. As solid as this thing is built, see no issues with it lasting for a lot of cartridge replacements.

I have a very old Moentro (by Moen) shower valve that uses a 1225 cartridge. This tool works well to pull the old cartridge out. Unlike my other cartridge puller tool that pushes against the outer edge of the tube enclosing the cartridge, this tool goes around the tube and pushes against the flat base of the valve body (see photo). The puller is well made, and easy to use.

This is a great tool to use when having to replace the cartridge on your Moen shower faucet. Simple screw the screw into the center part of the cartridge. I had to use you tube to figure out how to use this tool. Note that the puller has a recessed edge on each side of the puller to fit in the groove of the NEWLY designed cartridge. We replaced the original cartridge that did not have that recessed part. That made it a little more difficult to pull the cartridge out as easily. The tool make the task a lot easier.

I had a shower cartridge that I needed to replace and this tool made the process pretty straight forward. It is built to a reasonable quality and functions as described. Overall I would be fine recommending this product to others. Just make sure it works for your intended application first.
