This 104421U cartridge removal tool for Moen 1200 1222 & 1225 series single handle cartridges is excellent quality constructed. I ordered this tool to remove a stuck 1225 cartridge instead of using vise grips/pry bar/hammer etc. which could cause damage to the valve & pipes.I have removed numerous Moen single handle cartridges over the years, never as simple as it was removing the cartridge with this toolSuper simple, thread the bolt into the cartridge then rotate the handle and watch the cartridge come out with ease.Highly recommended.

This did not fit my 1225 cartridge. The screw in the center was not the correct thread to fit into the fixture and the tube that is supposed to press back on the rest of the fixture was to large. It slid right over the brass fitting instead of against it.

****. The threaded screw, which is the heart of this tool, is not the same size / pitch as the threads of a Moen 1222 cartridge. It may work for other cartridges but was completely useless for my application. Given the struggle to remove my cartridge from the valve assembly with the regular Moen tool the overall design of this unit does appear “smart” but due to incompatibility of the main screw it was a fail.

It failed to remove the cartridge, and the tool felt weak and cheap. After minimal use, it stopped functioning properly.
