I installed this cartridge 4 times and no matter what I did the cartridge would leak when turned on around the cartridge to factory housing. I cleaned up the old cartridge, lubed it with silicone grease, reinstalled and it works fine with no leaks. Not sure but seams like something is not correct with dimensions to seal to housing correctly. Very frustrating so I sent it back.

Relatively easy replacement job. Just need a few basic tools; channellocks are a big help. Got my leaky shower head sorted immediately. But make sure the inner springs and seals are in place on the white plastic piece that goes into the brass socket. (Most of the on-line videos don't touch on this.)

While this product seemed to be equally well made as an OEM part, after installing we found that the water flow control was not as smooth. The temperature control was fine. Initial examination of the parts, gaskets, etc did not distinguish why this unit would not have been as smooth in flow control, and it's still a mystery. The only other difficulty was determining which orientation was correct for left hand hot, right hand cold. The OEM had markings, this unit does not. But, overall, well pleased and certainly for the price point.

I bought this one even though there were not many reviews. Claimed to have more metal internal parts and came with the small screw for the rubber bushing piece install. (also came with 2 smaller white plastic pieces I didn't use, they must be adapters for another type of Delta handle) Trust me, if your shower guts have a hole for the double rubber bushing install with a screw, get this one and use the small screw on the install. And it is made of more and higher quality metal. My old replacement was only a year old and mostly plastic and snapped in half inside the wall. Also another reviewer somewhere recommended slathering O-ring grease on ALL the O-rings when installing. So I did that too. Went together quickly and could'nt be smoother operating. Nice part.
