My rope just slides over the wheels, there are no bearings in these pulleys so they don't want to rotate when loaded. I was only picking up about 50 lbs of weight and they would not lift it at without great force. It was worse than when I had my single pulley system. I was going to try and take them apart and lube them, but you can't take them apart either. Too late to return them so they will go in the trash.I ended up buying these for a little more money with lubed for life bearings and they work great.National Hardware N199-810 3214BC Fixed Double Pulleys in Zinc, 1-1/2"https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B000BD8N0A?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details

I needed to reduce load on a roll up shade that weighed 10 lbs. The lift rope run through eye bolts and the last one had a 90 degree downturn. A lot of friction and felt like it weighed 50 lbs. This pulley on the downturn feels like 5 lbs lift now. Stainless Steel so it shouldn't rust. I'm happy

Seems heavy duty. I got this to help hold and lift a deer feeder. Appears more solid then I figured..

I was seriously skeptical this thing would break but it totally exceeded my expectations by doing exactly what it was designed to do and at the proper loading. It has taken some pretty healthy abuse lifting a fairly heavy door but doesn't break a metaphorical sweat. I'm very happy with the product.

Why would you use a pulley that, when under load (25 lbs. in my application), does not even turn? This is metal-on-metal with such a sorry excuse for a bushing that the rope slides in the wheel groove and the wheel does not turn. I was suspicious when I first examined the "pulley" as one wheel's bushing, which does not even go the full width of the wheel, was all out of place, and both wheels turned roughly. Once I attempted to lift the 25 lb. load, the wheels simply did not turn.I am looking for a pulley that truly gives a mechanical advantage; I think I will look to climbing pulleys that have actual ball bearings. I do not think that even the saying, "you get what you pay for" applies here. $13 wasted . I'll see how much effort it is to return. Vendors should not even carry junk like this. I will not only avoid these pulleys in the future, I will avoid the vendor as well.
