I bought this for our gas saving car.. it would not connect, and when it did… it was mainly static. This was cheap, but it was also junk.

We've had several types of these Bluetooth/FM transmitters, and none of them are perfect. It's unrealistic to expect a signal to be broadcast from your phone via Bluetooth, then re-transmitted via FM signal to your car radio to be flawless, studio quality sound. But this unit does a very good job, and allows us to listen to streaming music, sports broadcasts, and podcasts while we travel.It connects quickly via Bluetooth, and setting an FM station is easy with the digital display.We were able to pick a "dead" station in the lower FM band to match and receive the signal from this transmitter, and the signal remains constant - even when traveling hundreds of miles and drifting between FM broadcast stations between towns.The instruction sheet is a small folded sheet of paper, but it provides the necessary information to use the controls.Like all of these devices, we find it best to turn down the volume on our phones a step or two below MAX, then use the radio controls for volume.While it broadcasts phone calls over the car stereo for hands-free driving, you may need a mic to pick up your voice depending on the proximity of you to your phone.PROS:- Inexpensive way to stream from your phone in an older vehicle- Small footprint that provides good performance, 2 USB ports, and a microSD port- Battery voltage displayCONS:- Re-pairing via Bluetooth is inconsistent; Once paired, if exiting and re-entering the car frequently (i.e., running errands), sometimes it pairs again automatically - sometimes it doesn't.- Sound has occasional static depending on local FM station interference (similar devices we've tested do this too).- Sound isn't as dynamic as a new vehicle with a direct Bluetooth interface, but it's good enough for us.

Mostly I like this device - here are some thoughts:* I wanted to connect this via Bluetooth to my Toyota infotainment system and play music from a flash drive. However, although my Toyota recognized this as a bluetooth device, it would not connect. My guess is that the toyota can only make a BT connection with a phone and not with an MP3 player. So, no stars off, since this is likely my car's problem.* I was able to use the FM modulator to play music through the car's radio. It works fine.* I tried both an SD card and a USB flash memory stick. Both worked.* As an MP3 player, it has very limited functionality. I think it plays all the files on the drive in order, and there's no way to select folders or navigate. You can go forward or backward, but that's it.* When you unplug it or turn the car off, it remembers what MP3 file it was playing and what FM frequency it was using, so you don't have to start all over.* I didn't try to connect with a phone, so I can't comment on how well that works.Bottom line, except for not being able to use bluetooth like I wanted (probably not the device's fault), it works well for me.

This is a nice little device that will broadcast any music file or podcast from your cell phone or music storage device to your car's FM radio, to play back through the car's speakers.It's really neat how it works: just connect your cell phone to it using Bluetooth, and select a radio frequency between stations. This device acts as a mini radio station and will broadcast the signal directly to your car's stereo.Also, when a call comes in, it also plays through your car's stereo system. I recommend a microphone clipped to your collar for best quality.

This device is pretty simple but functional! I like it. In my toyota all I have is the basic radio. With this device it expands on the basic radio. Now I have usb charging which is a must these days. I also have the ability to connect my phone and play music from it. The over all sound quality is good no complaints. Design and instructions are easy to understand. The blue tooth function I've had no issues with. It works as intended. I did puck up a high pitch whine. This is more than likely interference from the ignition system on the truck. I've had it happen before with a different set up in another truck. I needed up installing a inline noise filter on the power to the radio and its fixed. The reason I know it's ignition is this was a issue back in the day when car steros were a billion bux .Over all I'd recommend this . If for nothing else a cheap charging set up.

my "new" car has no usb ports for music -just the boring commercial filled radio. i had been doing research on FM transmitters for a couple of months and not getting good results from hearing the reviews.So, i finally decided to go past page 4 in the listing of transmitters sold on Amazon and found this one - did not have a lot of reviews but they were all good - mainly no static in the sound. So, i thought i would try it out.OMG - i love this thing - i was concerned about the U disk versus usb disk but it accepted my usb disk without me doing anything special to it. the sound quality is amazing...my only negative is that you just have to cycle through each song, you cannot go directly to a song you want to hear. so, i am going to alter my playlist (which i created for riding my motorcycle) but that is a minimal issue - the sound quality is good and that is the best thing
