These reeds produce a nice clear tone, with a clean high end and lots of projection. However, as size 2.5 they are a bit limited and easy to overblow. The reeds were playable right out of the mailer - and that is where there's a bit of a concern. There's no case protecting the reeds during shipment (bubble wrap and an envelope) or to keep them for storage.If the reeds arrive undamaged (ours did), and you have a case for storage, these would be OK. Consider a size bigger if you play powerfully.

These arrived tightly packed in a cellophane sleeve and stuffed into an Amazon branded bubble pack. That this packaging isn't adequate was clear from the condition of the reeds. One of them was bent quite decisively at the tip -- unusable.Of the others, I note the tip could do with some shaping. The corners are a bit sharp for my liking.In general, I find synthetics to take a little more effort to play. These are like any other synthetic. So OK. Not a great deal, considering the poor quality packaging.
