Once drilled into the concrete and anchored into the metal or wooden post, these go a long way towards stabilizing that pergola or gazebo frame to the ground. Mind you, if you know that you will experience significant wind, it is best to also use a cable and staking system to ensure that your pergola or gazebo won't blow away!That said, the ability to accommodate any size post, (effectively up to 5"), is a prime feature. The steel is strong enough and the size is adequate for light-to-moderate installations. I'm using it on my 10'x10' gazebo shelter that uses 4" steel posts. I have it inside a screen enclosure and up next to the house, so I use anchors on the house wall to further stabilize my gazebo. I'm confident that it will stay in place using this kit... TIMES FOUR!The Verdict:Get it, but get FOUR of them for a really secure, four-post installation on concrete!

The cheap metal used for the anchor bolts and the screws were useless! They stripped as soon as any pressure was applied to them.WILL NEVER BUY AGAIN!!

I got these to redo a mailbox post, but ended up not using them as we changed the design. The brackets are well made and well designed for use with a variety of posts. A variety of hardware screws and such are included, but depending on your application, you may need something different, but extra hardware is always handy. The wrench is a nice touch, but is small, and a full size one, or a socket, may be more practical. Again, an extra wrench is never a problem in the toolbox, and at least is something for a person without the proper size.

I wanted to add a bird feeding station to my current deck, these were so simple to use to extend a post up without having to redo the post and rail cap. Would buy again, well made.

I needed a base to support my stairs, that would hold a 4x4. The problem, the concrete sitting on it very slanted, so the regular base wouldn’t work. I ended up getting a set of these, and they worked great. It comes with all necessary hardware, all you need to do is drill holes, and attach the base using the supplied anchors. I ended up setting one side higher than the other to account for the angle, and did have to bend the bottom slightly, but it worked out great
