I’m 5 ft 5 and in my 50s , I wish the arm rests had the edge at the bottom of the arm pad . I believe it would make a lot of difference in holding myself on the thing . I feel that if I was a little taller it would be easier to use . However I won’t give up , I put 2 1/2 lbs weights on my ankles too keep me stable . It’s definitely quality made and nothing cheap about it .

Blasts my abs so hard!! Using in a large commercial gym and has been holding up well, which I was kinda worried about.

I used one of these at a local gym years ago and have wanted one ever since. I Finally decided to get one and went with the CS1500 as it is a light commercial version and i have heard mixed reviews about the entry level ab coaster 'max'. So far so good, definitely a great ab and lower back workout. It is literally the only type of ab workout i can say i enjoy doing. If i have any complaints at all, it is that it came missing one of the bolts needed to attach the frame, i just went to a hardware store and bought one, cheap enough and worked nicely.

Long time Ab Coaster CS1000 (since discontinued) owner here. This is an improvement on the previous model, which I wore out (cracked weld, possibly due to moving) after 17 years of home use, except for one critical item - the knee/shin pad. Evidently the design boys were on vacation the week they redesigned that, as its an absolute abomination! HARD HARD plastic with an even harder end piece on the back, which fortunately can be removed easily. I can only think they were making a concession to health club owners who wanted something indestructible, but for any other kind of use it's just totally unacceptable. I took the back piece off immediately to provide some relief and I'm going to put a self-adhesive 3mm foam mouse pad over the top to cushion things up and make it livable again, but for $1500 this really is an unacceptable compromise. All that said, this is far and away the best low back (!) and abdominal exerciser on the market. I laid my low back (SI joint) issues to rest shortly after I purchased the CS1000 back in 2007, and I use the thing religiously now. If you're looking for bang for the buck and/or you're a new user, I recommend the CS500. Same good quality, a little less sturdy, and you can't pile on all the weights that you can on the CS1500, but a great compromise for the budget conscious. And then, of course, you have to USE IT!By the way, I bought this off the Ab Coaster site, not Amazon, but the critique still applies.

My knees hurt so bad in this machine, the rollers if you lean forward stop on the track. The pad where you put your knees is so hard. Hard plastic hurts! No where to put a phone, iPod, or book. Way over priced!

Its fairly easy to assemble. Nice that it has wheels to move around easily. When you do the motion you have to do it slow otherwise the wheels will come off the track. Nice machine. I would say only buy this if you are trying to go from a B+ to an A. This is not for people trying to go from a D to a C (like me). You need to be in good shape already just to do a set of 10.

This is exactly what I expected. It was easy to set up and functions properly. There was a misunderstanding with the packaging which caused a delay in shipment, but the sender was helpful and promptly responsive to emails upon questioning. This equipment is what I ordered and does what I want it to do.
