Exactly what you expect a cheesecloth to be. Very simple.

I needed something to filter out water for sprouting various things. I didn’t want to pay for overly expensive plastic lids for mason jars. I also already have a bunch of ragu jars to utilize.I first bought window screen mesh after reading about a guy using it for sprouting. Once screen arrived, it still smelled of chemicals after washing so I looked for teabag mesh or cheesecloth and eventually bought these.Although mung beans, wheat berries, lentil, etc are large enough to be trapped by large plastic mesh, smaller things like broccoli and alfalfa would fall through holes. This cheesecloth though is perfect for draining water without losing the seeds and legumes. Also, the first thing I noticed is the size. There is quite a bit of it. I kept unfolding it and was amazed by the amount. Well worth it!

Once I opened the package the smell is enough to knock you out. I purchased this item to strain my egg rolls filling and now I'm at a loss. I am not sure what else this product could be used for but food is definitely not one of them.

Turned a yellowish color and had a bad odor after a month. We've kept cheesecloth and other food-related items in the drawer, and never had this happen. Back to crappy grocery store cheesecloth.
