I have purchased this item before for another area, it has been an absolute pleasure to see the lights come on and off with no issues. I am using this in Mexico and it has withstood the sun and the rain with no issues.

This unit replaced an older transformer for low voltage LED lighting. It seems to be well made and connecting it to the existing wiring was easy. I have two lines. Network setup was straightforward, connect to device network then to house network. Downloaded the app on my phone and I was able to setup a lighting schedule. It's been installed for a week now with no issues. If I have an issue I will update this post. In short, I recommend this transformer.

The struggle is real when trying to find a a landscape lighting power module that is smart. Every other one I tried wouldn't set up correctly with the mesh wifi I had in the house. So I took a chance on this model and man oh man, I couldn't be happier. It set up super easy, the app is very low budget, but I don't need much other than a scheduled time that turns the lights on and off disk to dawn.VERY VERY VERY HAPPY with this unit. Highly recommend.

Hello,Received the product and spent quality time trying to connect to my wifi noting that most of my home switches and all my cameras are connected to wifi, but, did not succeed in connecting this product. The product was delivered apparently damaged from day one. Would not recommend to buy with wifi. Better to buy a standard transformer without electronics in it and add to it a wifi enabled outdoor smart plug Alexa and Kasa enabled. This is exactly what I did and it works perfectly.

I could not get this unit to pair with my wireless router. I tried everything suggested in the instructions (ensuring I was on 2.5GHz). I even placed the unit next to the router in case the installation location was too far away. I rebooted the router and unit several times but no luck. I have numerous wireless products by various manufacturers (smart switches, oven, fans, Alexa, etc) & this is the first time I have not been been able to get a product to pair.Unfortunately, I bought this unit & stored it for later installation, so it was outside the return window. I may have just gotten a unit with defective hardware/software (that happened to me with a smart fan once - I returned the fan via the Amazon return process & got another fan).In this case, I bought a non-wireless version of this transformer that I have used in the past (Harbor Breeze brand name) from a local store, which has been working perfectly for my needs. Wireless and remote control via internet would have been nice, but non wireless transformers are set and forget as the light sensor tells them when to turn on and the owner can set the off time to whenever desired.Lesson learned in my case. When buying items like this, set up and test right away in case the item might be defective and need to be returned. This was my first purchase of a Dewenwils product (that I know of - the store item I bought called Harbor Breeze may be made by the same factory since it looks just like the Dewenwils products listed on amazon). Other reviewers report satisfaction with this unit, so I must conclude I simply got a lemon.

So the transformer itself does what it's supposed to. And it actually does have a pretty stout wireless receiver in there because even my phone has issues pulling my wifi signal through a fully finished metal sided barn and this connects immediately when I plug it in. But my gripe is with the app, it seriously looks and operates like something from windows 95. It's awful, and it WILL NOT set itself to eastern standard time. Will only ever revert to UTC no matter how many times in reset and re-setup the system all the while clicking the eastern time option. So my sun up and sun down times are all screwed up. And the timer function is pretty useless since sun up and sun down obviously change throughout the year. I don't know why this thing just doesn't have a dusk to dawn sensor like my other cheap non-wifi one on the other side of the property, but that one is my fault for not checking the description, I just assumed it did because I've never seen one without one. But alas, it'll work fine, and power the exorbant amount of lights I plan to shine for people to gawk at. and I'm pretty sure I can get Google assistant to set this thing on a schedule so hopefully I won't have to ever use the app.

I'm an electrical contractor. This is a great unit, reasonably priced and 200w should be more than enough for a larger backyard. The only issue was the control app. I have installed it in Canada, and with the Canadian postal code, I wasn't able to finish the setup. I had to use a usa zip code.

After opening box it took maybe 30 minutes to install 2 transformers. If you’ve installed SMART HOME devices before then this item follows the somewhat standard template: connect device to Wi-Fi, launch app and create account, select network and enter password, device connects to network. Repeat for 2d or more devices. I used my Apple iPhone and had no problem at all using IOS for installation as some have reported. Went smoothly. App could be more intuitive to connect to Alexa, but easy to figure out - again - pretty much the same as other SMART HOME gizmos. Timer schedule was easy to set, and devices come on and go off according to schedule. For first week, 100% pleased. Now to see how they perform over time.FOLLOW-UP: I purchased device in March, it’s now May 2022. Performance for first couple of months was super. No issues. Then had an extended power outage. After about 3 hours when power came back on the transformer did not reconnect to my network. The application didn’t show it as installed either. So I followed instructions to “reset” transformer and reconnect. Horrible. Followed same instructions to connect, but the Eco-Plugs Server, wherever that’s located, was abysmally slow to respond and to connect. Gave me half-dozen “Wrong Password” notices even though I was filling password info from what was known to be correct and stored in cloud. Otherwise after “submitting” info the indicator would spin and spin and spin - longest time was about 4 hours and still no connection, no time out, nothing. It took me numerous resets to finally get the device to register in the app, but consistent with the “Bad/Slow Server” I had observed, I noticed that the local time shown in the app, mine is UTC -10 based on zip code, shows UTC -0. Reason it showed that is that the server wasn’t updating based on the info I had submitted. Too, even though I checked the “connect to Alexa” box, it didn’t. It showed in Alexa, but was flagged as “Device Unresponsive.” All the while the app is telling me that “WiFi is Unstable” which I also knew to be incorrect for various technical reasons. Anyway, I knew that I had entered all the info correctly so I decided to try “waiting it out.” After a day and a half, voila, the application correctly showed my UTC -10 time zone, no more “WiFi is Unstable” messages, and Alexa began working. This confirms to me that the server supporting the application is totally inadequate and easily overwhelmed. So should you buy this, expect a possible lot of heartache in connecting. But if you KNOW you followed the procedures correctly you might want to give it a day and see if their Server catches up, otherwise you’ll be locked in a loop of trying the same thing over and over when it’s not your fault, but that of the Server that is inadequate for supporting the app and its base of users.
