It broke off at the weld the first time I took my boat / trailer out. Worst weld I've ever seen and I lost a brand new spare tire and rim. I pray to God it didn't cause an accident behind me but I'll never know since it likely happened on the freeway and I didn't find out until I was already home

Works as expected. Put some never seize on the wheel nuts, and maybe when you need the spare, you’ll be able to get it off. Also carry a wrench to fit the nuts on the spare carrier.

I couldn't use the product because of my 8 inch wide rim depth. Product is quality but just didn't work for my application.

This spare tire holder looks and feels sturdy and durable. It was easy to follow the instructions to install on my trailer. Once I got the bolts in place and tightened them it feels solid and stays in place. I used threadlocker on the bolts that hold the tire holder in place for extra piece of mind (not on the bolts that hold the tire). After a two hour drive through highway and dirt roads the spare tire was still firmly mounted in place. I highly recommend!

Tip when buying a spare tire carrier, check the weight of the product when comparing. Rarely is the thickness of the materials supplied. I choose this item not because it was the cheapest, but because it was highly rated and weighed the most, over a pound more than other options. Very sturdy and came with hardware to mount to different size trailers. I ended up with 4 good hex bolts to use for some other project.Only complaint is the hole distance on one of the two units I purchased was too small. I had to hand file the holes to elongate them slightly to work. Not too big of a deal except that takes off the protective zinc coating so I expect to see rust sooner on that unit.

This is a really well made item. The hardware is solid and the supplied nuts and bolts are grade 8. The welds are adequate for sure. This mounts very easily. The tabs on the backside only mount one way so keep that in might when you are mounting them. Two sets of hardware are provided for thinner mounting points on your trailer. I ended up mounting it on the tongue as I wanted it out of the way of my jetski, but you could mount it just about anywhere on a trailer. Not provided, but I definitely recommend using is some red loctite on the mounting bolts, don't use it on the tire bolts! Additionally while this can be mounted no problem by one person, the way the bolts are retained for the tire is a bit difficult to apply pressure on while using a wrench on the bolt. A second person would make it super easy, but isn't necessary.Don't forget your spare at home or have it take up space inside your car or truck bed, buy this mount if you're looking at it. Take the 30 minutes to install it and have peace of mind that your spare is ready if you need it.

Consider you will have to drill the actual holes of the support to match the bolt pattern of the rim. Unfortunately, it’s far to be an easy install where you’ll have only to bolt it on your trailer and install the rim.Although the fact it needs some adjustments, it’s very sturdy and because it’s made of galvanized metal, it will last for years.

So I installed this on a old boat. Right after the install I put on the tire. The old jack stand was wobbling and bent off while I was sitting with me leg under the tounge of the trailer. 9,000 lbs boat with a 800 lbs trailer lift. Match your stuff up please, it will save the next guy working on your stuff. The boat landed on the tire I had just installed causing a gap under the trailer tounge. My leg was under the tounge. This trailer jack held up very well coming from a 10 inch fall of a trailer jack and did not bend while holding a 9,000 lbs boat.It is scary as hell to be sitting under a 30 foot boat as it is falling. But this little spare tire stand caught the fall. I replaced the boat jack with one suited for the weight and let the owner no the error of his install.

I’ve bought a few of these throughout the years for my utility and boat trailer. They’re of very good quality. I’ve had one for 8 years now and not a spec of rust on it. Good value for your money. A wrench with a ratchet and a socket is all that’s needed for the install.

I recently purchased a new jet ski and plan on doing some long distance trips so I searched around reading all different reviews, some were cheaper than this and some were more money. The one I really wanted for my Triton aluminum trailer was the one made by Triton itself but I didn’t want to pay the $90 for a mount.I ended up choosing this because it seemed like the best product for the price, and let me tell you, this exceeded my expectations. The instructions were very clear for someone who is not mechanically inclined like myself. It took me about 10 minutes to install and everything was a breeze. The quality of the steel is extremely well built and very sturdy once installed and tightened. The tire fits onto the mount and doesn’t wiggle one bit. I also sprayed CRC onto the mount just so salt water wouldn’t rust any of the hardware immediately.
