I purchased this for document scanning while traveling for reports. It never functioned as advertised. When I tried to reach customer support, there was none available. I sent it back immediately. Stay away from this product!!!!!

I got this Xpress portable scanner, so I can easily scan in receipts and other documents. I really like that it is small and easy for me to carry. There was a bit of trouble setting it up but I have been needing to get one of these for a while now. I do not have another one to compare it with, but this seems to be good for me in scans multiple types of documents easily. The best thing is it’s small and doesn’t take up a lot of space and it is easy to carry.

Problem started right away with the installation. I went to the website that I was directed to in order to download the driver and... the product is not listed. There the race starts to find the proper link to the download. To cut a long story short, it took me two hours to download a driver which in the end I was not sure was the correct one as i ended up with a Cardiris5.9 icon on my desktop. Already a bad start. Then comes the first attempt to scan a document. I end up with a Jpeg format when i was expecting a pdf. I go to the user's manual. There, believe it or not, not a single indication on how to switch from one format to another or from high to low resolution. Something that was so easy with the 'Iriscan anywhere'. After three long frustrating hours the whole thing ended up in the dumpster. IRIS products, NEVER AGAIN. And by the way, while the Iriscan anywhere came with a softcase for transport, this one came with nothing and it is rather bulky.

This portable scanner is quite nice. It is very portable in it's size and it only uses a single USB connection for data and power, simplifying set up. I have been using it to scan receipts and it works great. It has a great scan quality and the feeder type scanner allows for long receipts. I am using Windows and just plug and play using the basic twain style driver.

Je viens de recevoir le scaner. Beau produit, rien à redire. Sauf que : il ne fonctionne pas sous Mac, alors que sur la page c’est précisé que oui. Alors si vous êtes Mac oubliez ce produit y cpris son frère l’executive. Retour a l’envoyeur.

I found this scanner as part of an archeological dig. We were excavating an ancient Egyptian tomb in the valley of the kings, and when we first opened the sealed tomb, this scanner was enclosed in a small, sealed box beside the main sarcophagus. I carefully opened the lid of a container which hasn't seen sunlight in over 3,000 years, and blew away a layer of dust a centimeter thick. What was that? A micro-USB port? What a find! An ancient micro-USB port buried deep in the valley of the kings for 3,000+ years! Who would have thought?In case you can't yet tell, that little jab was a sarcastic way of saying...why does this have a micro-USB port in 2024? This isn't 2014. Or 2014 B.C. either. It's 2024, and there should be NOTHING that comes equipped with a micro-USB port. Not ever. In fact, equipping a device with a micro-USB port in 2024 should be a criminally punishable offense.Luckily for IRIScan, I am unable to press charges in such a manner. But I am able to deduct a star for having a micro-USB plug. And so I am. This is the era of the USB C plug, IRIScan. Let's get with it.Linux was a no-show, unfortunately, for those wondering. Windows worked ok, but you have to make sure you unplug and re-plug in the scanner and re-run the software, otherwise it'll say "scanner not found". I had no problem switching between DPI modes. I didn't try OCR because I won't likely be using it for that, mainly for photos. Scanned image quality was so-so at 300 dpi, much better at 600 dpi. It's not super-fast, but it's not that slow, either. Definitely not for high-volume photo scanning, though. You'll want a dedicated photo scanner for that. I do like that it requires no additional power supply or anything else to run it. Overall, this is a great little windows-only scanner, and if you need something portable, this definitely fits the bill and works well. Aside from the micro-USB debacle, I have no other major complaints.

I am so happy to now have an easy way to scan documents that are required to be kept for tax purposes. I find that many of my receipts have an issue with the ink wearing off over time, so it is great to be able to digitally scan and keep a digital copy of the receipt, and not have to worry about the ink wearing off the paper.It scans very nicely in full color to whatever document type you choose.I set the software up on two different computers, and I must give a little tip…Make sure you go online and print the installation instructions called “quick set up” that is online. It tells you the order in which you should install the software for the scanner. See attached picture for the order.I had a little hiccup with the first computer I installed, but the second computer was a breeze when I followed the correct order of install.I do wish all products would come with instructions, but they simply do not nowadays.I highly recommend this scanner, as long as you review the install instructions first!
