When you go to install these, you will notice that they are cut on one end, not in the center. Pull them on from the long side first then snap them around for the short side. Easy installation that way. Stalled, they can slide up and down the ladder to where you need them. These out by installing them and then leading my ladder up against my gutter. Lined up perfectly and protected the gutter from losing paint while I was climbing up and down for Christmas lights. If you wanted to transfer them to another ladder there is easy as pulling off from one side sliding them off from the other and then reinstalling them on the other latter. I installed these on an aluminum ladder, and they were a perfect fit.

These covers fit well on the rails of my extensible 18’ ladder, and they do stay in place, no added hurdles using these. Stretchy but not quite thick, enough to avoid marring contact points on whatever the ladder rails make contact for support. So, these do protect as described, and the lengthwise ribs should also ensure good grip for no lateral slipping – haven’t got yet a chance to evaluate this, need a rainy day to try it.
