Flimsy garbage. Metal contacts not strong enough for anything but the thinnest insulation. No way to tell if it worked until powered up. Solder it instead.

I thought these would be a great time saver vs solder and sturdier as well. Turns out they really aren't necessarily either. They aren't horrible, but they are quite difficult to align and snap well and _straight_. Once together they are certainly stronger than solder alone, but compared to my usual join of solder + liquid-tape + shrink wrap, only a bit more rigid. They are also taller and harder to hide/stuff away.Possibly if one did lot of them, you could get quite quick at it, and/or craft a tool/jig to assist, but only using about 8 of the wasn't enough for me to get the hang of it I guess.

Incredibly hard to reuse without breaking the clamps (or your fingernails) but the connections seem solid if you can get it right on the first try

Connector is extremely delicate. Doesn't provide reliable contact. Ended up soldering it instead.

I love these. Makes repairing my strips a breeze. Soldering is such a drag when you just want to fix a connection. But it last longer in my opinion because there is no solder to break away from degradation. I suggest this for DIYers. Or those getting into learning led building like I am.

I found this to be really really handy - particularly in company with the strip-to-strip connectors from this seller. No more awkward soldering and gluing up cable support.I must note though--(as it clearly states in the descriptions)--keep that wire gauge at or below 20-22; most, if not, all of my header hookup wire is 26 or above. That does make a connection, but definitely not reliably or secure.

this is a solid idea for connecting lights however I have had less then a 50% success rate using these as the connections into the light strip even when I do get a good connection they don't pass the wiggle test

I had very high hopes for these, because I really don't like breathing solder fumes all that much. And on large projects it's not healthy. The first time I used these, about 18 of them, with 22 gauge stranded wires, I found:1. All of the connections were sound and solid on the first try :)2. The strip side was easy to connect. You need pliers for both sides though.3. The wire side was more much more difficult, trying to line up 3 small wires in exactly the right positionwithin the device was difficult. There isn't much to prevent the wires from sliding around inside the connectoruntil you close the cover tightly, so I spent a lot of time finagling the wires to get them just right before going for the pliers to try and close the cover before they slipped.4. There are no test access points to measure voltages. I found this very inconvenient, as I had a segment that wouldn't light, and the connector covers are very difficult and painful to open once snapped closed.Overall they make good connections and the way they are designed provide good strain relief. However It is probably faster to solder wires, because of the fiddling required to line up the wires in the connector before closing with pliers.
