I had a old Moen tap start leaking. Initially, I grabbed a cheaper cartridge unit from a brick and mortar, but it leaked even worse than the old Moen.I ordered this and swapped it in with lots of silicone lube, and the problem was solved. Not worth saving a few bucks on a knockoff - just buy the real thing and fix it right the first time.

I bought the Moen part instead of much cheaper generic parts. It fit and operates perfectly.

Delivery was super fast and item was of high Moen quality. It does come with the plastic tool to assist in removal of the old one and lubricant to help seat the new one.

I purchased this part to replace a faulty insert in a new valve but as I had it in my inventory for such a long time I could not get a replacement. Installation was just fine but I have had issues with some of the Moen valves I have installed....the pesky shower drip, drip, drip when the it has been turned off. In this case I was doing a fairly major shower install so thought I would get a new insert and bench test the assembly prior to plumbing it in, and it worked just fine. The old valve did not have any of the complexities of the new valve so I just hope that it will work out well over time. The old (Moen) valve has been in use for ~45yrs and no issues..

I ordered 3 of these so I could repair 1 faucet and have 2 in the kit for repairs down the road for the other showers in my house. Well priced and shipping was fast. My girls were happy to get their shower back.

Excellent delivery time, broke on a Saturday night, new one arrived Sunday by 2 pm. By 3 pm shower was fixed and working great. The part was original equipment and easy to install. Doesn't hurt to watch the you tube video first.

My shower was not adjusting the temperature properly. I replaced this cartridge and now it's fine. The old cartridge was difficult to remove. the removal tool didn't really help in my case. The old cartridge had been in there for twenty years. I was able to get it out with some vice grips and some leverage. There are some YouTube videos. The shower water control works like new now.

Bought 1 to replace cartridge that was becoming hard to turn. Had to buy the puller to get old cartridge out. New cartridge works great. Forgot how easy it is to turn when new. After 1st repair I purchased a second cartridge to fix the guest tub. This one also works well. Would have given 5 stars if more reasonably priced.

After 20 years I had slow drips on two of my shower heads. Removing the old cartridges was somewhat difficult and I am very happy that I also ordered the removal tool. With 20 years of hard water usage it would have been impossible to remove without the tool. Install was easy and straightforward. It is unbelievable how smooth the handles now rotate and the drips are resolved!

This came in a sealed case with all the appropriate markings. Inside was the white plastic removal tool, some lube for the soft goods, instructions and the cartridge. I'd watched some YouTube videos and a lot of them said the included plastic removal tool was useless and to buy a Moen or danco removal tool(mixed reviews on which is better between the two[one costs less but I don't know if it's just less expensive or cheaper]). Also after reading reviews for this product, I was worried that this cartridge wouldn't come with the plastic removal tool so I bought the Moen tool with this cartridge as a just in case. However, I didn't even have to open the Moen tool. I followed the included instructions except instead of going in one direction like the instructions said, I turned it clockwise until it got real hard to turn but hadn't cleared the body and then went the other direction until it almost came out but got hard to turn again and then back in the original direction and voila. The cartridge spun freely. I just had to grab a set of pliers and with a little bit of force it pulled right out. Now on the install the cartridge went almost all the way in but just shy of being able to re-install the clip. I couldn't get it fully installed without the help of a 3/8 drive deep socket and a gentle tap with a hammer. I used a socket big enough to go around the brass post but not to big to make contact with the body the cartridge goes inside of and a couple of gentle taps on the back of the socket it slid into place. Don't push on the brass post/strike it. Pushing on the brass post/tapping on it may push the core out. The core doesn't really pop out that easy(could also be because it's old,I didn't try disassembling the new one). I tried it on the old cartridge because I was thinking about rebuilding it to have a spare. Either way just wanted to point that out. All in all an easy fix, thanks to a well thought out product. Also as another note if you bought the Moen fixture and still have the receipt you can get a cartridge free of charge from Moen. Just give them a call. They have a lifetime warranty on their products. I tried but my fixtures came with the house I bought so I didn't have a receipt to email to them. Also doesn't hurt to give them a call and see if they'll send you one without a receipt... The worst they can say is "no" and then you just come back to Amazon and buy this product and call it a day.

Worked as advertised. I did have difficulty pulling out the old cartridge. It was in the guest bathroom so it wasn't used as often as the one in our master bath. It was 9 years old. The difficulty is that the plastic piece that is used to rotate the cartridge clockwise 45 degrees is flimsy. I had read about this so I was careful to go back and forth alot and also flip it upside down to use a fresh side. I pushed it almost to its breaking point. Finally got the old cartridge to rotate enough but it wouldn't pull straight out easily. I sat in the tub with a pair of pliers on the valve stem after I rotated it and provided constant pressure for awhile and it pulled out. Other than that plastic piece this cartridge worked perfectly. I had originally lost hot water to that shower, that's how this all came about.

The part was easy to replace and with a little care of installing it, it worked perfectly. All the parts were included to perform a professional job at a fraction of the "plumber's price". Be sure to remove the horseshoe retainer before removing the old cartridge. I used a deep well socket with a long screw with the same thread as the cartridge plunger. Apply a nut onto the screw, slide a flat washer (larger than the hole in the socket) over the screw, insert the socket and screw into the old cartridge and turn the nut in order to remove it. Don't forget to apply the grease to the new cartridge before installing it again. Good luck.I can highly recommend this product.
