Many, many moons ago when I was working my way through college, I worked for a moving company during the summer and we used moving straps. It was the first time I had used moving straps to help move heavy and bulky items and I was amazed how much easier it was to carry things.These straps are very well made and are made from a durable polyester that should be able to take quite a bit of abuse. The long length of the straps will accommodate just about anything you need to move and the multiple arm hole loops make it easy to find just the right grip position. Using these type of straps really helps to alleviate the strain on your back and even makes moving items up and down stairs much easier.I always found myself needing these around the house and now I'm glad I have a set for when I need them.

Each strap is about 9-1/2 feet long and three inches wide. They have three loops at each end to accommodate different-size objects and different-height people. I tried one of the straps on our washing machine, and after routing the strap under the washer, the ends of the strap were at just the right height for me to comfortably get my arms in the loops. The gloves are a nice bonus but shouldn’t be necessary since you’re lifting with the straps around your arms, not your hands.

If you have a second person to help you move, save yourself the back pain. This thing has three arm holes at each end, so you can use whichever is a comfortable height for you. You take the two straps, crisscross them, put your heavy object right on the X, each person picks a side, you pick up your two strap ends, put your arms into whichever arm holes you like, grab on the object, and lift.Also comes with two pairs of gloves. You might not think you need them, but if you're spending a day moving furniture, you definitely will need them. You'll see how dirty these white cotton gloves get at the end of the day.This thing saved my back, and I'm keeping it for my next move, or for someone else's.I got this for free through Amazon Vine.

Finally caved and bought lifting straps. WOW I could have used these a lot earlier in my moving "career". For all the washers and dryers I've cut fingers on lifting up steps, all the heavy lifting I've thrown my back out on. What a simple solution. Five stars because they saved my back when lifting a piano. The gloves included were a plus.
