Unfortunately, both of these arrived broken, with the tip also seized shut despite many attempts to loosen it. This is quite problematic as I need it for a work project, now to have to explain the delay to my client and don’t have time to wait 3+ weeks for new ones, nor do I want to as this is a defective product.

I purchased this HLVP kit because it had the large nozzle size required for spraying gel coat. Works well and kit was economical.

I ended up with a great paint job on a pair of murphy bed doors. The basics of the sprayer were fine, but the details not-so-much. I like the full set of nozzle sizes, particularly the largest one. I could not disassemble it entirely for cleaning because some threads were "glued". I forced enough of them loose so I could clean the gun after painting. After doing so, I found that the threads were in bad shape. I had to be gentle so as not to completely strip them out. The trigger was designed for a different gun and would not fully actuate. It worked fine after grinding some clearance.

I bought this gun to paint the inside of a driftboat with zolotone. Sprayed almost a gallon. The 2.5 nozzle did a great job. Just had to turn the air pressure up. Then sprayed the clear coat on the next day using the 1.4 nozzle. I'm not a painter but this came out great.

Let me start with, I own 2 other HVLP Guns. A SPECTRUM with a 1.7 tip and lacquer gun with a 1.3 tip. I went looking for a 2.0 Tip for laying down Primer and Polyurethane Oil Base for Floors. I came across this gun with 4 tips where the 2.0 and 2.5 is what I wanted and thought for the price I would get an extra gun that I know the tips will fit. The other guns are from H.F. Purple 1.3 and the Spectrum 1.7. I did have to return them when after bringing them home it was like they were welded together at the threaded parts. So when I went to the store I brought a wrench with me to make sure they were not frozen. This One came like the Frozen Ones I bought. I kid you not when I tell you, you better have a man Vise in your shop, Metric Allens. I took this one apart and one of threads had what seemed to be Red Loctite on the brass fine thread tip receiver, the packing nut had the same sticky (seemed like lacquer) all over the packing nut and rubber washers, as well as on the inside of the spray tip cap where some of the holes were clogged, and the holes are smaller than a pin head.Seriously when you go to remove the 1.3 tip that it comes with installed, you will put the wrench it comes with in the Vise and try and break it loose. This tip was so tight that the tip did not come loose, instead the piece behind it broke loose (which had Purple/red Loctite on the threads) and then I had to use an Allen in the vice to get the Tip to separate from the tip receiver. Also it was missing the O-Ring at the base of the Tip as the other 3 Tips DO have. They do not even send a Schematic with it so PAY ATTENTION when you un assemble as well as count the thread turn for the Packing Nut tightness. IT's 1.5 turn Out from bottomed out, in case you forgot. It is like these guns are used to shoot lacquer and then someone ran 1/4 cup of Thinner thru it and then tossed it in a box and then the Seller adds the tips and some brushes and sells em. The outside had sticky stuff as did the inside of the Tip Cap as mentioned.I cleaned it up, and ran some Thinner through it and will shoot with it tomorrow and then see how it handles the Poly in a couple days after the Water Based Stain dries well then shoot with 2.0 Oil Poly.*HEADS UP-> The Tips this gun uses won't interchange with H.F Guns. The Tips DO Thread IN, however they have a larger diameter and are set up different to deliver the air/fluid mixture. If this is your first Gun and you are not comfortable tearing them apart to 1st Clean before your 1st use without a Schematic, you might want to keep shopping.Stars 3 outta 5 for Overall3 outta 5 for Cleaning due to the Vise and ridiculous tightness5 outta 5 for Value due to 4 tips to include a 2.5 for slinging glue for Formica3 outta 5 for Ease of use IF I did not have two already the instructions are a Joke.Ie., They do not even tell you to wrap your threads (non fluted) with Gas/Yellow Tape.

I needed a 2.0 or greater spray tip to apply UPOL high build primers for auto body work. This gun came with 3 tips and the bigger being 2.5... This primer is very thick but flowed easily through this tip. Super fast build and super smooth finish makes sanding a breeze... Unbelievable value... well done.

Seriously easy to use. I've done 2 motorcycles, 1 jeep and my tool shed. Quick and pro-status finish. People who saw my bikes are now asking me to paint theirs for them. I never was a painter but this makes me look like a lifelong professional.
