Scratched, flimsy, and cheap. I suppose I can't complain based on the low cost, but the item doesn't look safe to cook food on (no, the item isn't covered in plastic in the photo. Those are scratches.), so I can't even speak for its functionality. Don't waste your time or money.

The steamer was a little wide for some of my pots. It was also a little too tall for one of my pots (with the legs on) and I wasn’t able to get the pot lid closed. Even so, I was able to steam some eggs, which is what I bought I for. It’s a good quality steamer, just wish you had one that was a 6 inch size.

As if the instant pot didn't do enough, you can use this trivet looking device for making tamales. Attach the rather flimsy feet-worst part about it is the flimsy feet which you attach. This gets the device off of the bottom of the pot so it doesn't scorch. Add just enough water to reach the bottom and put it on saute. Open the steam valve and cook your tamales.

For me, this is the easiest to clean trivet, or steamer rack, for the Instapot 8qt. It's 3-legged so it could potentially tip, but to me that simply means you need to weigh it down with more stuff. But as you can see, it fits perfectly.

This is probably the best $7.99 I ever spent! I got this steamer tray to try Alton Brown's "Hard Not-Boiled Eggs" recipe because I was tired of the frustration of not being able to peel hard-boiled eggs without half-destroying every one, and the steamed egg recipe said it cooked the eggs more gently and made them easier to peel. So I put this steamer tray in the bottom of my biggest stainless steel pot with 6 cups of water and made the recipe. A dozen eggs fit on the tray nicely and the recipe came out perfectly! For the first time in my life I had perfectly cooked "hard-boiled" eggs with no ugly gray-green ring and with frustration-free peeling, all thanks Mr. Brown's recipe and this affordably priced steamer tray! By the way, another reviewer said the tray did not come with the feet attached and they must be welded on. This is incorrect. Yes, the three little metal feet for the tray do not come attached, but you simply attach them by inserting the two ends of each foot in the corresponding loops on the underside of the tray. Hope that helps. I am attaching a closeup photo so you can see what I'm talking about and also a photo of how well the tray fits in the pot I used, which is 10.5 inches wide.
