The pull starter is barely usable, as the compression is too high. Took out the second piston ring and trying a thicker gasket. Will update if it starts.--UpdateAfter getting a thicker gasket and running a single piston ring, the engine does run. I still need to tune or change a carb, but the engine works fine overall.

We bought this to turn one of the kids electric dirt bikes into something a little more powerful for the older ones. My husband is a mechanic and spent days trying to figure out what was wrong with it. It takes a lot of effort to get it started, then it only runs for 1-2 minutes before it shuts off. It’s not returnable, so we were just out the money we spent on it, plus the other money we spent to make the new & improved dirt bike function. Overall, I was more irritated that my kids got excited and thought they’d be able to ride since they’re too big for the electric one. It took a week to get here, then was late because it kept getting transferred back & forth… they’re patiently waiting, it gets here, my husband works on it for a week, welds it to the frame.. doesn’t work like it’s supposed to.

Waste of money, unfortunately. Was meant for my sons mini-dirtbike and looks exactly the same as stock but after it was installed you can't even pull the rip cord because of how much compression there is. Removing the spark plug relieves the pressure but then of course it won't start without spark.

I purchased this engine for a pit bike and I highly recommend!!! The only thing I did not like is that the air filter came totally crushed and destroyed… besides that I got a different one for 5$ but I highly recommend and I give it a 4-5

I used it for project and it works great. First pull cold start. I did 20:1 ratio for 1st tank of gas then I used 32:1 ratio later on. Great engine for the price!
