How To Grow Cat-Grass Mixture
- Place rinsed berries in a quart size sprouting jar.
- Soak for at least 6 hours or overnight. Drain off all water. (The first two steps can be skipped if desired.)
- Place a layer of soil across the bottom of the growing tray. Mix seed can be boosted by adding organic crab meal to the soil.
- Add pre-soaked seed to the top of the soil and cover with about 1/2 inch of soil
- It is very important that the soil is moist but not muddy. If too wet, seeds can rot and mold is more likely to grow.
- Continue to water every other day. We recommend using a spray bottle to ensure even watering and prevent over watering.
- The grass will be ready for use in about 6-8 days if not sooner. Cut and use.
- It will keep growing and be ready to reuse again in 3-4 days

Storing Seed

Thunder Acres Organic Cat Grass Mix, 8 oz. - My cat loves this grass! It sprouts in a few days and grows fast. My cat likes having her own grass to eat and of all the cat grasses I tried, she prefers this blend. I like that it is an Organic Mix. This product is easy to use. When the grass gets too tall and starts to dry out, I pull the grass from the pot and replant new seed. In a few days, my cat has fresh grass. I repeat this grow cycle throughout the year. I am reordering another 8 oz package of seed because the bag is getting low. This current package should actually last a few more months, but I don't want to run out. I estimate this 8 oz bag of seed will last for a year plus a few months, depending on how often one replants for new grass. Bonus Toy - My cat absolutely loved the cat toy that came in the package! It is her favorite toy to play fetch with and she is a senior cat.

Cats won’t eat it. Grew fine. I guess they don’t like the blend. They eat wheat grass just fine.

This is one of those products I feel is a win-win, I feel good to support a small family farming business who provides a unique product with a high level of quality, and in my opinion, a very competitive price.I Tried out of variety of leftover cat food containers by poking some drainage holes and using potting soil and a Basic growl lamp and I think meow mix containers worked the best. One thing that took me a while to realize that I was harvesting the grass Prematurely. My cat is obsessed with grass and he pretty much demand it with every meal so I usually snip it onto his food, by letting it grow pretty tall, I have more supply than when I was cutting it at the more average grass length.I keep the seeds in the fridge. I think this is the most optimal way to store them, but I have no scientific data to support my claim.!

My little tuxie girl loves this blend more than anything - unfortunately, including her actual dinner. I have to keep the planter outside, or else she'll fill up in grass and then puke it up on the carpet. Definitely an endorsement when a cat prefers grass over minced chicken. Or maybe I'm a bad cook. XD
