Useless, the thread at the end that goes into the wood is so shallow it has no grip. Any pressure as you try to cut a dowel will result in it spinning inside the wood and not spinning the wood through the dowel maker. Ending up making my own.

This stylish piece of metal is superb with beautiful lines and curves . This product will enhance the beauty of any drill it finds itself attached too. A must for any dowel maker who wants beauty along with product quality. I would definitely recommend. ๐Ÿ‘

It takes patience, but it works perfect for making knobs and sanding small stuff.

The concept is good but this little adapter has almost no thread so it doesnโ€™t stay inside the wood..it strips out of the piece of wood with hardly any pressure. All 3 piece I tried with maple failed. I was hoping this would be a quick alternative to my lathe for small dowels but sadly no.

If it had more aggressive threads it would work well threads are too small to hold in wood

I bought this to use with my dowel maker. It's a great idea as I can't fit the wood directly into my drill but the threads are very fine and it often strips in the wood and I have to cut off the end and rethread it in the wood. Would work much better if it had beefier threads.

Absolutely useless for hardwood use. Stripped immediately making 3/4โ€ oak dowel. Might work on softwoods but not on hardwoods. Perhaps with a courser thread.

Super simple, just drill your pilot hole and slap this bad boy on there.

It is not built for anything over 3/8" dowels. And you must go very slow at that size.

This is an excellent idea but the screw thread is simply wrong. It has a 'fine' thread rather like a self-tapping screw and that is no good at all for most wood. Pretty well as soon as I tried it, the wood thread 'stripped' in the dowel I was spinning. It WILL do that in most wood as soon as the load strays above minimal. My solution was to insert a coach-screw into the hole this device had made, cut off the head and insert the remaining shaft into a drill. That worked perfectly and cost me 'nothing'.I suggest that you use a 'centre-finder' before drilling the end of your 'stick'.

Useless for hardwood..the thread is too fine to hold..

The threads of the portion that screws into the stock are too fine. They strip out of the stock rather than turning it into the cutting portion of the jig.
