If your existing bypass valve does not have the 9/16 inch gap as shown in the picture below, then you will need a larger size bypass valve component.
This bypass valve is not suitable.
As shown in the picture above, this component can only work when your valve has 5 screws securing the valve cover. If your valve has 8 screws, then this component is not suitable for your water softener model!
Installation Instructions
- Before starting the installation, make sure to shut off the water supply valve and disconnect the power.
- Carefully inspect the valve assembly to ensure there are no damaged or missing components.
- Remove the old bypass valve assembly from the water softener. You may need to use a wrench or pliers to loosen the connections.
- Insert the new bypass valve assembly into the water softener, ensuring a secure and tight connection.
- Connect the inlet pipe to the inlet of the bypass valve assembly. Make sure there are no leaks at the connection point.
- Connect the outlet pipe to the outlet of the bypass valve assembly. Again, ensure there are no leaks at the connection point.
- Check all connection points to ensure they are tightened and secure.
- Open the water supply valve and check for any leaks.
- Connect the power supply and ensure the bypass valve assembly is functioning properly.

Valve adapter doesn't create tight seal. May have to do with wrong o-ring size. Water went everywhere when I turned on the water. Broke electronic of my new water softener.
