Installation Instructions
- Unscrew the old panel. Unscrew the bottom screws of the hopper( front and back). Cut all the ties binding the wires. Unplug all the wires. Remove the old panels.
- Feed the RTD wires through the holes on the left side of the grill into the bottom of the hopper and into the hole where the panel is supposed to be attached and screw RTD wires to the green terminal block.
- Install the RTD (Temperature Sensor ROD) located inside of the grill.
- Plug all the wires into it proper cable connections.
- Use zip ties tie to bundle loose cords.
- Screw on the bottom grate.
- Screw and tighten the new digital control.

My Pit Boss pellet grill stopped working. It would not light. I replaced the ignitor and had no luck. Ordered this kit and swapped all the parts and viola! it was working again. All parts fit perfectly and it was easy to install. Has been working like a champ for 3 months.

I installed this after a windstorm knocked over my Traeger and broke the knob. It was fairly easy to replace. I only needed a couple of screwdrivers. It was more difficult to empty the pellets than to replace the part.

part came in the install was good. but seems to me that it takes a long time to reach 500 degrees,it may the grill also? time will tell. good stuff.

piece of junk. did not work as it kept the traeger at the highest setting no matter what temperature I set it too. flame cup caught on fire because there were so many pellets being pushed through. returned and bough OEM direct from traeger. more expensive but it works perfectly

I have a 10 year old Elite Traeger...and I was actually thinking I would have to buy a new Traeger. My Traeger wasn't getting to temperature and was turning off on its own and I'd have to smack the control panel on off with the flat of my hand to have it turn back on... I bought this and swapped it out without even looking at any YouTube videos on how to swap it out and I'm not a handy guy at all and it was extremely easy. Unplugged all the wires that are color coded and put in the new one and BAM. I had a brand new Traeger as this new control panel made my old Traeger run like new. Highly recommend and if I can do it... anyone can do it.

Seems like good product. Have not been able to use it much. No instructions with package, but wires are same color as Trager model I have. RTD temperature sensor is to long for tabletop model, I had to use my old one. Would suggest simple instruction for installation of Hot Rod igniter.

Put this on a free pit boss that wasn't well maintained the original controller blew out a section of the circuit board and made the grill run away and ended up getting so hot from burning grease it popped the paint off.I cleaned it up and tested the fan and auger so decided to pull the trigger on this kit to replace everything else it took about 15mins to change the parts out (did have to notch the top shelf bracket to clear the temp probe it was longer than the original) test fired and everything was fine there are only 5 p settings on this controller and default was on 5 so need to set it lower from the start I found setting 2 seems to be the sweet spot.Been using it for a month now and we'll over a dozen cooks even a couple of for long periods 6-15 hrs with no issues the hotrod is working just fine I was wondering being some people said there's quit but mine lights everytime.This temp control isn't a PID of course so it will have it's quirks and on average it reads and runs about 10 deg lower than actual grill temp it kind of depends on the temp you have it set for it will swing a bit more at times.But for the money it does the job of reviving an old grill and it's still a step up from the original the old one didn't have a shutdown function or on off switch.Update over a year later now and many cooks through all seasons everything is still working as it should only thing I've done is play with the p setting depending on the weather all in all still does the job.
