Did not receive self drilling screws, I got an extra guide bracket and extra bolt retainer but no screws I would increase rating if I can receive the screws thanks.

They work very well to keep the huge barn-like doors open or shut. He dug a hole, filled with cement and made a hole in it for each spot where the drop rod would need to be dropped. It’s nice because there is a part where the handle of the rod can rest if it doesn’t need to be dropped and so it doesn’t drag along. Great set for our needs and would certainly recommend them.

I replaced a single cane bolt that had no hold up bracket with this pair of Femotic cane bolts, addingd one to the left gate door, which I previously held open with a rock, and now my gate is fully functional. I had to pound a piece of pipe in the ground for the left door's cane bolt to slide into but now both of my gate doors can stay open held by the bolts.Installation was easy because the supplied screws are self tapping type. Instructions are simple and easy to read. The hardware is heavy iron with a thick black powder coating to prevent rust, and seems quite durable. I feel they are quite durable, very attractive, and represent a really great value.

These drop rods are a top quality and look great. The kit includes everything needed to mount and secure your gate(s). Many drop rods can simply be pulled up and out of the hardware, leaving you with the frustrating task of reinserting the rod through the brackets (especially if your hands are full already). This kit has the added limiting/retaining bracket for the top of the rod to prevent it coming up too high and out of the guide brackets. This also has a design that lets you lock the rod in the up position so it doesn't drag on the ground, leaving a scrape trail that will never go away.

These cane bolts are well built and heavy. I have them holding two large swinging gates in place and they work perfectly. They are made of quality steel/iron and powder-coated to resist rust and corrosion. I have a lot of experience with powder-coating. It's great until it fails, which it will eventually. But it last so much longer than regular paint, which dramatically prolongs the life of the thing you're trying to protect. These have been in use for a few months now and show no signs of rust or degradation. I'm very pleased with that. In a few years, when rust spots start to show, I'll clean up the cane bolts and spray with a Rustoleum or something similar. I expect these will last for decades.I wanted something that wasn't just a stick of pipe held in place by conduit straps. ...Something that would look deliberate, quality, and "historic" in nature. These fit my expectations. They are easy to use and hold my gates just as I'd hoped. I wouldn't change a thing about them if I could. I actually think they would look great inside a home to hold French doors in place and the like as wellI wholeheartedly recommend these cane bolts. Just really good quality hardware that should last a very long time. Order with confidence!

I used to have a 12 inch cane bolt on my gate. It sat too low to use with ease. Especially me with a bad back. This taller cane bolt is a life saver. It comes with a bolt retainer that provides support in the open position. No more dragging the bolt on the ground while the gate is being opened. Sturdy build and hopefully lasts a long time.

Typically I buy more economical items such as a shorter gate drop rod that doesn’t have the small attachment on the top to hold it up. The 36” option is easy to reach and the small attachment at the top that holds it up when you open the gate is great.

I have not installed this yet, but it really comes with everything we need. All the materials are super sturdy and well-made. It's going to be very easy to install, and it also comes with directions. I got this for my chicken run. I recommend it!
