This is a super fantastic attic ladder hinge, much nicer than the original hinge that was installed on our ladder! It is made with extra heavy-duty high quality sturdy metal; I think the quality is second to none! This is definitely a 5-star hinge; however, I gave it 4 stars because there were no instructions to install the hinge, so we ended up drilling several other holes through trial & error. This may not be the best way to install the hinge, but what worked for us was installing the hinge close to the edge (see attached pics). After installation, the ladder kept perfectly straight with no bend at all! Also keep in mind that there were no nuts, screws or washers provided, so we had to make a quick run to Home Depot. Other than the 2 issues mentioned, I highly recommend this attic ladder hinge!

These hinges are pretty good. Not great but I think they'll last a long time under normal attic ladder use. By that, I mean they're not designed to be used multiple times every day. They're for use once a week for many years.They are made of sturdy metal that feels like it will stand up over time. The coating is very good and I don't think these will scratch or rust in my lifetime.The weakness is in the rivet for the hinge. I know I can't expect a bearing at this price so I'm not disappointed. But you should know that these are not made for continuous use. I don't think they'll hold up.I am satisfied and I think these are a good value.
