We often use mixing or storage bowls in the kitchen, and it seems that we always wind up needing another clean one when preparing a meal from a complicated recipe. We own several products made by Chicago Metallic, and I have come to associate the brand with well-made, heavy-gauge, durable metal products that last forever and a day. So, I quickly ordered the "Chicago Metallic Stainless Steel Soft Base Bowls" when I saw them listed on Amazon. In one of my two photos, I attempted to be artsy by showing a closeup of the soft base on the largest bowl. (In case you were confused by the reflection in the photo.) The more practical mixing bowls on the market today include a soft base to keep the bowl stable on the counter when using it. It's a useful feature on this type of mixing bowl. (Old school chefs often placed a folded cloth or towel under the bowl to keep it from slipping.) Stainless steel is the norm, as well as the ability to stack the bowls to save space. So, these meet all of today's standard criteria for a useful addition to the kitchen. Added to this is the Chicago Metallic brand, which calls itself "The Baking Experts." If you are reading this, I'd be surprised if you didn't already already have a Chicago Metallic product in your kitchen that you've relied on for years. Five stars.

I wanted to start phasing out my plastic mixing bowls, so when I saw these metal mixing bowls, I had to have them. What I really think sets these apart from my other mixing bowls is their depth. I was initially worried that they wouldn't hold as much as my other bowls, but because they are deep, they actually hold a bit more than I was expecting! I am able to use a hand mixer without flour flying all over the place, which is another bonus. Another underappreciated feature is the non-slip base. I do not worry about having to hold onto my bowl for dear life when mixing. The base also helps temper heat when I put the bowl with hot items onto surfaces, including in my fridge. These bowls have heft, yet they are not heavy. I am so happy I got these, and I will absolutely recommend these to anyone.

I am trying to reduce my use of plastic and wanted to get some stainless steel mixing bowls. I like how this set has 3 different sizes. Small size works good for scrambling eggs and the large size is good for large batches of bread. They are lighter than glass while more durable and long lasting than plastic. The black bottom also helps when mixing and doesn’t make the bowls loud when used against a counter. Also, they are dishwasher safe. The reason I deducted a star is because these bowls aren’t advertised as being 18/10 stainless steel, so it makes me unsure of the quality.

These bowls are nice. They're heavy and have a rubber bottom to keep them from slipping, they are easy to mix in so there is no slipping.

I really like these bowls. The biggest one is such a good size. I needed one to do bigger dough batches. The silicon bottoms really make it nice so that they stay pretty steady and do not just move around. They nest really well inside of eachother. They also have a nice aesthetic look to them. Easy to look at. I can set them out for serving food in too and it looks real nice. I like the three different sizes. Any baker would love to have these.

I love these! They are really good quality and they look beautiful. Very smooth finish. The silicone pad on the bottom makes a huge difference both in stability and noise. It’s much quieter when mixing something in the bowl if it’s rocking around with that silicone pad on the bottom. Really happy with these!

I love metal mixing bowls in general, and these are the first ones I've gotten with a silicone bottom for slip resistance. These bowls stack well, are sturdy, and light enough to not be overwhelming when you've got stuff to mix in there.
