I like that I can use my air compressor to pressurize the cylinders rather than having to turn the engine over. This leak down tester has helped me narrow down a problem with my Subaru STi motor that is hitting compression but seems to be leaking from two of the cylinders a little bit.

I didn't realize there was a difference between compression testers and leak down testers but now I do and this kit has worked perfectly on an 95 outboard and an 11 expedition. On the outboard we were getting a good compression reading but it failed the leakdown test. It is reading the same pressure as the compression tester was to start so I'm guessing it is pretty accurate. This kit had everything I needed for the outboard but I did have to use my OEM attachment for the 2011 Ford to reach those holes. The gauges and hoses are very good quality, the brass fitting are nicely machined. It's a great kit in a solid case and great to have in your shop for the money.
