I'm not a pro mechanic, just a guy that tinkers with a lot different motors. Owned a lot of compression testers over the years, all garbage. Readings were never consistent and dubious at best. Recently I started overhauling my fleet of Stihl equipment. Needed a compression tester so went to Harbor F and bought one of their $30 testers....what a POS. Couldn't get readings higher than 25psi no matter what I did. Readings had to be wrong, there was no way that all my equipment needed a rebuild so I started searching. If I had access to a Snap-on truck I would have went that route but because I work out of my home garage Snap-On won't stop here. Did a lot of research, the MityVac tester seemed like it was what I needed so I ordered itGreat compression tester! Now I get readings that I feel comfortable with and know are accurate. Now I have to only rebuild 2 Stihl engines instead of 10. This tester is a keeper, hope it outlasts me

Bought back in 2021 when I started wrenching on my first car. I did not need it, but I figured I would start amassing good tools that would last me many years to come. It sat in my air conditioned house for 3 years in the original brand new packaging, undisturbed. Recently, there was finally a need to test the cylinders on an old V12 Jaguar. It worked great for half of the engine, but then it started reading no pressure. The tool would read pressure for half a second and then go back to zero. Tested it on previous cylinders that we got a good reading from and it continued to show zero. Tried it on a known good vehicle and it was still malfunctioning. For whatever reason the tool does not hold pressure anymore. It could be a bad gauge, pressure release valve, hose, quick connector, etc. I'm not going to bother diagnosing it. This Mityvac costed me $110 + tax. It's a premium kit. It should work out of the box. Checked the documentation. Warranty was only good for one year, so I am out of luck. Ended up going to Harbor Freight, picked up a cheap analog gauge, and finished the job.Moral of the story, don't buy something unless you need it, or at least test it before it's out of warranty.

Works great. Stores compression values to each cylinder for your convenience.

Tried it for the first time and it worked very well. Overall feel out-of-the-box was good. Fittings and hoses seem to be of decent quality and there's a lot of flexibility with the various attachments and hoses. Never thought much about it until I started using it but the ability to store the measured values for each cylinder and scroll through them later is a real plus.

This unit works great on mercury outboards. It’s well made with a good case. I have used it several times and it great. You can store 12 cylinders in its memory, then write them down after the job is complete. I will never use an analog unit again. Digital is defineltey more accurate and easier to read. The shipping was super fast as well.

Was considering this and the mechanical version. I decided on the mechanical version but ordered this by mistake. I do like it. it has become useful to hold the readings until i get to the work order to write them down. W/O's are kept in service office. Was concerned that some of the indicators of the gauge action would be lost with this digital gauge but I'm beginning to get the hang of it. The case isn't much but it works for now.

I've been using this for 4 years now and I couldn't be happier. This is a quality compression tester. This kit has all of the adapters that I have ever needed. You don't even need a pen or paper to record all of your pressure readings. With this tool you can pick which cylinder you are testing and it will save the readings as you cycle through the rest of the cylinders. Then when you are done you can cycle through all of the readings. This set comes in a high quality case, this kit should last a lifetime.

Have been using it for a little while now. It has some convinient futures that I have found handy. I can take the readings and record them on the r/o later. It is accurate. The stiff hoses make it hard to get into some places. Otherwise it's a Fandy

I am a powersports technician at an up and coming shop. When I began working at my current shop I inherited many projects from previous technicians. One project I inherited was an engine rebuild due to low compression, but it just didn't feel right. I promptly ordered this Compression test kit from Amazon, got a good compression reading and then correctly diagnosed what another tech was unable to. I can only presume the other technician must have used a bargain bin compression test kit. This compression test kit led me in the right direction and has not let me down since! It saved the day, saved me lots of unnecessary work, made the customer happy, and helped me impress the boss. When you're a professional mechanic/tech I cannot stress how important it is to have good tools that you can trust, and this is one of them. the case it comes in is simply superb and it holds everything in it's proper spot. The gauge is spot on and it appears to zero itself out every time you turn it on. The back light helps in the dimly lit corners of the motorcycle shop. I was considering the Innova compression gauge but settled on this one because it is over $100 cheaper, is easier to use, and may infact be more useful as it is not limited to measuring 5 compression strokes per cylinder. this is especially true on smaller powersport engines where 49cc's of air will barely fill up the hose to the gauge in five revolutions.you can count on this set every time. I love the fact that I can test every cylinder then scroll back through the results after and write them all down. Saves a few minutes every time.

I wavered as to whether to buy this one or a lower lever Mityvac. Glad I bought this one as I needed the longer reach of a certain size hose. The adapter on some of the single hose models would have been problematic. As to the digital issue, it works fine and gives an exact reading. I assume the round dial version with the max indicator would lead to more of an estimate of the pressure in the operators judgement, as in "about 185 psi" as you have to interpolate the gauge. In contrast, the digital would read "188.5 psi."
