The fit and finish is very nice. The box is gift/presentation quality. The blade finish is good and very sharp, right out of the box. The length and curved cimeter style blade make it a good choice for meat preparation. It is truly more of a prep butcher knife than a carving knife for cooked/finished meat like the photo might indicate, but hey, use it how you see fit. The handle is smooth, well craft and very comfortable to use. I only hand wash my knives and I would not suggest putting this in a dishwasher with a wood handle.I really am impressed with this knife though I had never heard of the brand/company. I am not a professional chef or anything but for a guy who likes to cook, I feel this is a good addition to my knife rack. The knife claims to be high carbon German Steel. I know many complain about off brand knives being soft Chinese steel that has not been heat treated well, subsequently there are concerns about holding an edge. So far, my use has seen it stay sharp with minimal use of a steel to keep the edge up. I am happy with my new Meat Sword.

I’m extremely impressed with this knife! The quality is top-notch, and it’s incredibly lightweight, making it easy to handle. The blade is razor-sharp, which makes slicing meat effortless and precise. I also love that it comes with a protective sleeve for safe storage. It’s a fantastic addition to any kitchen, whether you’re a home cook or a professional chef. Highly recommend!

My wife's favorite meal to cook when our family gets together includes BBQ'd ribs. She uses an old recipe she got from Mama Dip's cookbook. We have a large family and that means a LOT of ribs have to be cut and this recipe requires that all the ribs be cut before cooking ... and the cutting is my job. Until now, that has been quite a job. Our new Paudin butcher knife has taken almost all the work out of rib cutting. The knife handle is easy to grip, comfortable, and it cuts through the meat like it's hardly there. Makes this formerly dreaded part of our get-togethers FUN! Now I realize that most of our knives were dull. We use our Paudin for other cutting tasks, especially hams and turkeys, and it's great there, too, but the ribs are where I'm most appreciating the quality of craftsmanship, balance, and ease of use. A MUST for every kitchen! If you don't already have a really good, sharp knife, I think you'll be surprised at how much easier this knife makes life in the kitchen.

Wow, the PAUDIN Butcher Knife, 10″ Cimeter ( Scimitar) Breaking Knife is beautifully made with good balance with a very sharp cutting edge. The manufacturer is Chinese and so the included fact sheet is subject to the usual Chinese / English literal translation foibles. The manual specified the blade material as 5Cr15MoV High Carbon Steel as rust proof but follows that with: "Caution - Please dry after clean to avoid rust." If you google 5Cr15MoV you find: "5Cr15MoV steel is a high-carbon stainless steel known for its good corrosion resistance, decent toughness, and ease of sharpening. It is commonly used in kitchen knives and offers a balance between affordability and performance, although it may not hold an edge as long as higher-end steels."The cutting edge is not serrated so it will be easy to maintain the edge with a rolling knife sharpener. The 5Cr15MoV has a maximum Rockwell hardness of 54 HRC so it wont retain its edge as long as a high end chef's knife like the 61 HRC of the Shun Classic 10" Chef's Knife, Handcrafted Japanese Kitchen Knife at twice the price of he PAUDIN.

This PAUDIN butcher knife is seriously impressive. From the moment I unboxed it, I could tell it was high quality—the packaging is sleek and makes it feel like a premium gift. But it’s the blade that really shines. Razor sharp right out of the box and slices through large cuts of meat like butter. I used it on beef brisket and pork shoulder, and it made the prep feel almost effortless. The curved cimeter shape is perfect for trimming fat and portioning meat cleanly. The handle is comfortable, ergonomic, and has a great grip even when my hands get a bit greasy. Plus, it looks beautiful with its polished finish and wood handle.Whether you’re a home cook or someone who processes a lot of meat, this knife is a powerhouse. Easily one of the best additions to my kitchen gear. Highly recommend!

First impressions upon opening is that the presentation is really nice. If you are giving it as a gift, you won't be disappointed. It also comes with a sleeve, which I love. When I travel for Thanksgiving and Christmas and know I'll be cooking, I take my own knives, because my family does not know what a good knife is.I used the knife for the first time a couple of days ago to do meal prep for my raw-fed dog. I cut and cubed almost 50 lbs of meat. The knife was extremely sharp. It is longer than any knife I have, so I had to get used to the length. Once I started using the whole blade all the way to then end, I really began to appreciate it. It made short work of cubing large cuts of meat because I was able to slice along the entire length of the cut with one pass.It is not yet watermelon season in these parts, but I anticipate slicing watermelon is going to be a lot easier as well.Great knife.
