Not recognized by system as DVD/BluRay device. I can see the files but it is not recognized by my PC as being a DVD/BluRay playing device. One should not have to search the internet in order to make a product work.

Worked twice and is dead. Great product from Amazon. I've gotten so much crap like this from Amazon, that I'm starting to assume anything I buy from amazon will 80% of the time not work. All praise Bezos, Sam Wal of the mail.

This is a simple external optical drive, which is exactly what I needed. I'm not techy enough to give it high or low marks in technical categories. I can only tell you that I needed this drive, and may need it UP TO three times a year. So, I'm happy. It works.* Footnote: Amazon delivered this item in a soft envelope. Fortunately, the delivery person DID NOT THROW this delivery. (They typically do.) I also received a box of empty, blank, DVD cases. Just the cases. Plastic and hollow, etc. They were packed in a box with air bubbles all around. The Optical Drive... shoved in a soft envelope. ?!!??!!? Hello Amazon? If you read any reviews, see if you can see the illogic in this delivery. Of course I still haven't heard from Amazon regarding the flight of my watch. It was thrown from the middle of the front yard to the center of my porch... and I have the video.Sorry... off topic. I can easily recommend this External Blu ray Drive based on my results!

Saw lots of reviews. It doesn't play everything and misleads as a blu ray it doesn't play blu ray.

Bought this to do some ripping of Blu-Ray discs. Plugged it in to my Windows 10 based PC and it was recognized immediately. No problem with VLC media player or MakeMKV recognizing the drive or reading the discs. Great value.
